3M DI-NOC architectural film for San Diego interiors.
DI-NOC is a thin, self-adhesive architectural film from 3M that looks and feels like real wood, stone, metal and other materials. We install it over the surfaces you already have, so a tired wall, a dated elevator or a plain reception desk gets a new finish without demolition.
ALTA Creative installs DI-NOC for offices, retail, restaurants, healthcare and multi-unit properties across San Diego and Southern California. Tell us what you want it to look like and we will help you choose the finish that fits the space.
Where DI-NOC goes.
If it is a smooth, hard, interior surface, there is a good chance DI-NOC can finish it.
Walls and feature walls
Give a lobby, conference room or restaurant wall the look of walnut, travertine or brushed steel.
Columns and pillars
Cover bulky or damaged columns with one clean, continuous finish.
Doors and frames
Refresh office doors, storefront frames and entryways without replacing them.
Cabinets and millwork
Update built-ins, shelving and counters in place, instead of tearing them out.
Elevator doors and cabs
Replace worn stainless or scratched panels with a fresh, uniform finish.
Reception desks and counters
Make the first thing guests see look custom and finished.
Pick a finish.
The look of the real thing, in a film. These are the families we install most.
Wood grain
Oak, walnut and more, with embossed grain you can see and feel.
Stone
Marble, travertine and slate looks, without the weight or the cost.
Metal
Brushed and metallic finishes for elevators, columns and counters.
Concrete
The poured-concrete look for hallways and feature walls, without the weight.
Colors and patterns
Dimensional patterns and clean single-color finishes for accents and uniform looks.
Hundreds more
3M offers 900+ patterns, colors and textures. We pull samples for your project.
See it in a space.
From lobbies and elevators to conference rooms and lounges, DI-NOC changes how a space feels without changing the walls underneath.

Why DI-NOC instead of real materials?
Replacing a surface means demolition, dust, noise and downtime. DI-NOC goes over what is already there.
Faster, cleaner installs
No tearing out and rebuilding. Less downtime, less noise and less mess for your staff and customers.
Real look, lower cost
A film finish is often more affordable than new wood, stone or metal, and the surface underneath stays in place.
Stands up to cleaning
Resists common stains, cleaners and disinfectants, and wipes clean with mild soap and water.

When DI-NOC is not the right fit.
We would rather tell you up front. Here is what to know before you choose it.
Exterior surfaces
Standard DI-NOC is for indoors only. 3M makes a separate exterior series, so ask us about outdoor projects.
Damp or steamy areas
Constant condensation or big humidity swings can affect the film. We will tell you honestly if a space is a poor fit.
Rough or porous surfaces
The surface must be smooth, hard and sealed. Rough or porous walls need prep first, and we plan for it.
Sun-baked glass
Dark, opaque film on glass in strong direct sun can cause breakage, so we steer you to better options.
Tight compound curves
Many finishes wrap curves, but some are not recommended for compound curves. We match the finish to the shape.
Custom printed artwork
DI-NOC is a textured finish, not a printable film. For printed graphics, we use wall murals.
How a DI-NOC project works.
We check the surface
We look at the material, condition, humidity and sunlight, and confirm DI-NOC is the right choice before you spend anything.
You choose the finish
We pull samples that fit your space and confirm the fire rating and warranty for the finish you pick.
We prep and install
We clean and seal the surface, apply the film, work it around curves and edges, and walk you through care when we are done.
Why choose ALTA Creative for DI-NOC?
With more than 17 years of industry experience, our team works with 3M films every day. We handle the survey, surface prep and installation ourselves, so you deal with one team from first call to finished surface.
Questions, answered.
What is DI-NOC?
3M™ DI-NOC™ is a self-adhesive architectural film that recreates the look of wood, stone, metal and other materials. It is applied over existing interior surfaces like walls, columns, doors, cabinets and elevators.
How long does DI-NOC last?
3M rates DI-NOC for about 12 years of performance on indoor vertical surfaces, and most finishes carry a 10-year interior warranty. A few finishes carry 5 years. We will confirm the coverage for the finish you choose.
Can DI-NOC go on curved surfaces?
Yes. It can be applied to many curved and three-dimensional surfaces. A few finishes are not recommended for compound curves, so we match the finish to the shape.
Is DI-NOC fire rated?
Most DI-NOC finishes carry a Class A fire rating (ASTM E84) for interior use. We confirm the rating for your specific finish before it is ordered.
Can DI-NOC be used outside?
Standard DI-NOC is designed for interior use only. 3M makes a separate exterior series. Talk to us about your project and we will point you to the right product.
Can you print artwork on DI-NOC?
No. DI-NOC is a textured finish film and is not designed for surface printing. For custom printed graphics, we offer wall murals.
How do I clean DI-NOC?
Use mild detergent and water with a soft cloth or sponge. Avoid abrasives, ammonia, chlorine and strong solvents like acetone.
How much does DI-NOC cost in San Diego?
Cost depends on the finish, the surface and the square footage. Call 619-259-0103 or send us your project for a free quote.
